Ontario Regulator Approves New Online Gambling Licenses, Expanding iGaming Market

21 October 2026

The Ontario regulator has issued new online gambling licenses, expanding the province's regulated iGaming market and providing more choices for players. The Alcohol and Gaming Commission of Ontario (AGCO) recently approved licenses for operators including Tonybet, Delta Bingo and Gaming, and High Flyer Casino, adding to the growing list of brands available in Ontario's online casino and sports betting space.

To operate legally in Ontario, companies must be registered by the AGCO and, except for OLG.ca, must also have an operating agreement with iGaming Ontario (iGO). This dual framework, which combines industry safeguards, player protections, and online gaming innovation, has been crucial to the rapid expansion of the market.

Since its launch in April 2022, Ontario's regulated iGaming market has grown rapidly, now boasting over 5,000 regulated game offerings across more than 70 sites, according to iGO's 2024-27 business plan. The market has attracted a diverse array of operators, with the latest data showing 47 licensed operators and 79 gaming sites as of early 2024, with new brands continuing to enter the sector.

The Ontario market has become the most competitive jurisdiction in North America, according to iGO, a testament to the province's successful model. The regulator notes that the market offers a wide range of gaming experiences, including peer-to-peer poker, sports betting, classic casino games, and novelty betting, all within an iGO framework designed to protect and empower the province's players.

To gamble online in Ontario, players must be 19 years of age or older and physically located within the province, a key aspect of the market designed to protect underage players and ensure compliance with local gambling laws. The regulated market includes comprehensive consumer protections, including responsible gambling tools and resources, as part of a system that prioritizes game integrity, fairness, and social responsibility.

The addition of new brands like Tonybet and High Flyer Casino signals the continued expansion of Ontario's online gambling options, with growth particularly strong in live dealer and mobile casino experiences. As the number of licensed operators and gaming sites continues to rise, Ontario remains a benchmark for regulated iGaming in North America, offering players access to a growing range of gaming options while prioritizing consumer safety and industry responsibility.

With the latest licensing approvals and the broad range of brands already available, Ontario's regulated iGaming market is not only here to stay but poised to continue growing, offering both opportunities and challenges for operators, players, and regulators.
