How do the MLB playoffs work?

The MLB postseason is more of an elimination tournament and is usually held after the conclusion of the Major League Baseball regular season. The playoffs for each of the leagues both the American and National have one game “Wild Card playoff” between the two Wild Card teams. And two best of five division series featuring the Wild Card winner and the winner of each division. And lastly the best of seven League Championship Series.

Winners who emerged from the American League Championship Series and the National League Championship series will then play against each other in the best of seven World Series. The current MLB system allows up to 43 postseason games with a minimum of 6 games.
